The OIC issues guidelines for insurance companies to strictly adhere to in the case of COVID-19 insurance claims, medical expenses and/or daily compensation
Dr. Suthiphon Thaweechaikarn, Secretary-General of the Insurance Commission (Secretary-General of the OIC) revealed that according to the OIC held a meeting with the Ministry of Public Health. Currently, the Office of Insurance Commission has successfully applied the above principles to the guidelines. and has notified the life insurance company non-life insurance company Thai Life Assurance Association and the Thai General Insurance Association to be implemented on March 1, 2022.
The guideline has the following important contents:
1. Applies to claims under insurance policies that the company has been approved by the registrar. which the company issued to the insured or the covered person and the insurance policy is still in effect
2. Determine the definition of “COVID-19 Insurance Policy” means an insurance policy.
